Mad City Review -- Nov 1997

When I first heard The Time Garage Gurus I was not enlightened. By chance I met one of the famous few and he turned me on to the Robinson Research Institute for the Halucinagentically Impaired Individual and I was reborn. Brought forth into a world where newness was the key to every door opened without fear. Colors seemed more true to the ones hidden inside my head. Wisdom was no longer a rarity and the world for the first time found me...yes me! interesting. Hence the T.G.G.s were the stones upon which I walked, enlightended all the while. No other band (I followed the Zombies) can take one so far into the new as T.G.G.s. It is my feeling that this is still true. From the strong spiritual statement made by "Follow the Coat Rack" off One Plaid Fart to a truly whimsy lyric like "She took a lock of his hair and threw it into the ocean, as a symbolic gesture of some bizarre devotion" A strong statement is made of the raping of rain forests told by "Burning Down in Bangkok" (which I had the great pleasure of hearing first in an impromptu jam session held in a kitchen in - of all places - Arena, Wisconsin). These Gurus do get around!

Truly, though I could be a victim of only seeing out my window, I have always thought there were many in this world more enlightended than me. Hopefully, because the R.R.I.H.I.I. has become virtually invisible, people can come to the openness required to really hear the message of The Time Garage Gurus without the extreme measures I to go through.

Euphoria exists when amazing creations are shared. And I will thrill to know that there are even a few who acknowledge the genius of T.G.G. Vonnegut would thrill to know that true communication need not happen only through burbs and farts. Thank You All for letting me share.

Note: the title "All Hollows Eve" is a great tune to greet the kiddies on Holloween night.
